Morning all

From my rally orifice window I can see a heron and two little egrets

and a whole lot of precipitation

We saw about a hundred swans on the river mugging several people who were feeding them bread, and we saw three herons, and we saw two cormorants (unless it was one but it had moved fast) and we saw mallards and Canada Geese and ordinary geese and pochards past counting.

We watched this blended family swimming upstream for over half an hour yesterday. The goose led the way for the whole of that time - wherever goosey went the swans dutifully followed.

I’ve just realised, I suppose we were following too. That was one very charismatic goose!

When you say you’ve ‘had’ an egret, what exactly do you mean to convey? Asking for the RSPB a friend.

Probably had it roasted. With game chips.

Evenin’, all.

I can’t report exciting wildlife spottings, but we saw 5 grey squirrels between here and, including, Embra. In fact - we saw two in DD’s street. What the flip! I think that they want total world dominance and Mr Bee should have squished one of them while he had the (close) chance.

eta to add good nights, all.

‘Watch out for the squirrels!’
Now what the heck was that an ad for?*

I’ve probably mentioned before the time I went out for an early morning fag on our terrace, about 25’ up, and leaned over the wall (blind brick all the way up) to find myself eyeball to eyeball with a feckin’ squirrel. Hard to say which of us was the more put out by the encounter.

*Quaker Harvest Bars, apparently. The tufty little sods are welcome to my share.

I think you know the answer to that. And if you don’t, you should.

Order away, Darling. I have no idea who would install such stuff, mind you.
