Havenāt been able to talk to Posh for 5 days now & have had Medequip on the 'phone to say that there is no power to the fall-alarm.
I called the Care Agency & told them about the alarm & 'phone & they rang me back after the lunchtime call to say that there was no electricity to the flat at all, as the card needs topping up.
Sigh.
She has had her medication, but wouldnāt let them do anything else for her, & has ālostā her 'phone.
NALL, at all. Things happening outwith oneās control can be very stressful, indeed. Itās not as if Mondays are the best of days for you anyway, Carinthia. I feel for you.
My words obviously had an effect on āLast Minute Carersā * as the Scouse head of the Domiciliary Nursing section went out to see her tonight, & sent me a text to say that the power was on.
*Such an unfortunate name, I feelā¦
Posh was completely overwrought today, after all the pissing about, & I fully expect her to be very cross with me tomorrow.
I have fired-up the Quattro, Candles & the Extry Extry
I could hear her distress on the carerās 'phone earlier, which really upset me.
That carer was Sri Lankan, & I know that communication was really difficult today.
I reserve my outrage & contempt for a system which allows vulnerable poor people reliant on medical equipment, to have to pay more for the āprivilegeā of having an electricity meter which some other poor sod has to go to a shop to top up.
I know thatās an rubbish sentence, but I am tired & Bluddy cross.
