So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

Joe have you come across pubs like the nightmare one we were dining in on last Friday?

No beer but lager or cider

Not even Smithwicks

I nearly died of thirst

We are back with the Epic & Biblical again

Sigh

I can hear fireworks in the distance too

It’s all 'appening 'ere…

Which is A Bit Bloody Daft in E&B conditions.

But the Cellar knows my views on fireworks in private hands. Namely that those hands deserve to end up crispy, and with bits missin’.

Can’t go to bed, because of cat/nightdress juxtaposition. Heigh ho. :black_cat:

Pro tip

Leave cat in situ, exhume a different nightshirt and slide into bed very delicately so as not to affront the snoring/wheezing mog

Not even stout? I’m not sure that’s legal…

Even the greatest of stout wells eventually runs dry.

There was a stout tap in the dim dusty recesses of the pub

It looked to be unused

Whatever it is, and I don’t care what it calls itself, that is not a pub.

Buns made for the Bull’s radio club tomorrow

A little something as one of the group lost his wife a couple of weeks ago

So they will just be having tea/coffee and a chat and condolences rather than talking radios

I hope home made bunses of the vanilla or chocolate persuasion go done well

Just my way of offering condolence

I wouldn’t bet on that. But I am sure the buns will be appreciated.

Oof

Flump

There were between 80 & 100 people queueing at the Surgery fer 'flu jabs & Covid boosters. I was the only one wearing a mask until a very frail elderly man joined the queue.

After a long discussion with the Dr doing my injections, I ended up accepting the latest iteration of the Moderna vaccine, which was all they had.

I would have preferred to have had Pfizer, but I missed my Spring Booster as I wasn’t well, & they didn’t have Pfizer then either, unless one paid for it.

I have no idea what arrangements are in place this time, but at least I have had something.

Mine are on 16th. Not looking forward particularly but better them than either flu or covid.

Definitely that, in my view. I believe that Covid is much worse than the ill-effects of the apparently well-meant injection and, so, I’ll take the latter.

My brother has been having the most recent iteration of covid for a month now. He is just starting to feel better, but complains he can’t yet do the number of sit-ups he was doing each morning before he got it.

He will be eighty in January…

Having had Covid in June and spending time twice at the doctors pleasure because of it I will take a day or two feeling meh over that than another bout of the real thing I have better things to do than amuse doctors

I’m sure that no-one minds a day or 2 of feeling ā€˜meh’ after a vaccination. One expects to.

That wasn’t really what I was trying to say.

It can be abit difficult feeling really meh when one lives alone.

I have had 'flu twice in my life, & it was awful. I couldn’t walk.

Thank the Deities & the vaccination I have never had Covid.

Oh dear dear Chatelaine I was not implying any complaint on your behalf

Please know that was never my intent

I do know how hard it is to live alone and be unwell so please accept my apologies for any hurt I may have caused you
