So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

Of course I do

Wind powered motion is great fun!

The trouble is (as someone I knew found out in the seventies when Oxford Bags were the In Thing) that pavements are not very wide and the tacks are therefore inconveniently short.

It was hilarious watching him trying to make progress up Park Street. Rather like a small boat trying to get out of Dartmouth against the incoming tide, going past the same buoy over and over and over again with the duty seagull sitting on it and jeering each time we went by; the skipper took to throwing things at the blasted bird.

This probably worked better in the days of salt beef than with tinned stew.

Palazzo pants, yes, because they are usually made in a soft & flowing fabric.

Jeans stand alone anyway, & I fear that, with so much fabric they will ‘change your shape’.

My Late friend was short & dumpy & she used to wear ‘bootcut’ trousers from S& M. They looked like bell-bottoms, because the proportions weren’t right.

Finding a pair of well-cut trousers or jeans in which the waist is in the right place is an Bluddy minefield these days

I used to alter an awful lot of Libra Fashion trousers for 2 of the shops I worked for. This was back in the day when it was a young Irish fashion brand, & the quality & cut were great. Gardeur trousers were beautifully cut too.

Of course, both brands had their price which was £100+ even then, 15 or 16 years ago, but I’ll bet that there are many pairs still in existence.

I have 2 pairs of M&S denim palazzo pants and they are exquisitely comfy

M&S seem to be just right cut for my frame

And the extra fabric helps balance my chest which is a good thing

I do wish that I had the height to sport wide-legged trousers of any sort, but I don’t. They make me look dumpy and frumpy, so straight-legged pants are for me, Also, bold prints tend to wear me, rather than the other way round. I am glad that you are in love with the latest addition to your wardrobe, Twellsy, and hope that you’ll wear them confidently and happily.

That’s great, Twellsy. Find summat wot suits, & stick with it.

As an aside, anyone who could cut properly to accommodate an menopausal midriff/middle would be assured of many many sales

I appear to have slept for 7 hours on the sofa

It snowed abit whilst I was sleeping, & we are due some more.

The pavements still have a light dusting, but the road is clear.

2245 in Stockport: many tiny flakes, almost melted before it landed, ground damp rather than icy, Black Sheep still holding out.

Still snowing very gently here. It has settled but not much (insofar as it is possible to tell from the fifth floor.I am not nipping down in me nightie to check.)

ETA: barely a centimetre and it already sounds v drippy.

Shock horror. Though a friend on the other side of Manchester has it rather worse.

Roads a few miles away from us are impassable and it’s happily snowing on until 8pm tonight apparently

It’s a novelty for us who are close enough to the shore to benefit from the caress of the N Atlantic drift
As we have a well stocked fridge and freezer I am not moving out of the house
