So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

Just had a nice long chat with B after she had to have further surgery to take all of the cancerous cells in her boob yesterday

She only got the results on Monday from her lumpectomy the week before Christmas

So things are going really fast for her

I can only give her love and be available to let her talk and ntry to support her

Her children are 19 17 and 13 so are doing the housework and cooking

I am just the daft old bat who cherishes her friendship

In general, the faster the better as far as I know. I thanked the Lord for the Royal Navy when my son noticed a Lump; four days from first appointment, via cancer diagnosis, to single orchidectomy. He rang up on a Wednesday and told me he’d give me the bad news and the good news in that order: ā€œI’ve been diagnosed with testicular cancer, they’re operating on Friday.ā€

He’s had no further trouble.

The Lad had to go to Leeds for his surgery. They moved very quickly once they realised that it was cancer.

He is one of the youngest people in the country to have had this, so they weren’t looking for it in the first place.

All good wishes to B, Twellsy.

It really seems to be the speed of intervention that helps with survival

B was at a routine screening and the girls there didn’t let her go until various extra photos had been taken and appointments with the surgeon made

So the message is get squished girls (and boys keep an eye out too)

B thinks she is going to try and outdo with the quantity of her meds…

What this says to me is that lumpectomies are relied on too heavily. A little more lead time and it could have been one surgery, not two, for your friend. But the conservative approach is currently fashionable.
I hope the second op is successful and wish her a swift and uncomplicated recovery.

I used to have rubber riding boots wivvan heel as my wellies. They looked & felt great.

I can’t get into long-legged anything without a zip, or opening since the feet went funny, so they went to the Charity shop.

Feral has written an Thing which takes the horribly complicated Traffic England web site, pulls out some specific data, and calculates current travel time by each route between the M40 (towards the Nest) and the M6 north (towards several conventions a year). Nice and simple.

I ordered a size larger having read the reviews, & have also put a pair of gel insoles in them, so that the feets are comfortable. Gel insoles are very shock absorbing, which izzan Good Thing.
