So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

Just as I am from Flemish and Polish, among others.

Definitely Danish, then. On both sides. Probably with some Norwegian as well.

I still remember living in Newham when the local racist nutter candidate (before that was mainstream) sent round a flyer claiming “I was born in Limehouse of pure British stock”.

Yeah.

Right.

The result of a DNA test my father had showed him to be pretty much pure viking (though you’d never have guessed to look at him), and OMCB, though never tested, is a true Yorkshire lass so probably much the same. So I guess I too am viking as much as I’m anything at all.

Disappointed in the lack of pillaging in the Cellar, frankly.

I can pillage if you want

Though it would be a shame to burn the gin lake

It would spoil quaffing if the alkyfrol burned off

And my squeakwins would be a melted mess too

Today has been largely occupied with spending large amounts of money on floor coverings. We have (presently) thick, grey, shiny carpet throughout the hive and this just has to boogie off. Mr Bee will recover from the shock.

Dinner has been mushroom stew with broccoli and red pepper bread. DD and GD will visit, tomorrow, so I’ve made daal to go with roasted, spiced cauli and a tomato salad. GD will snooze contentedly while we and DD scoff lunch. That’s the plan

Yesterday was a bit of a headachey day due to my attempts to read a magazine

Trying to do close work is well nigh impossible now

Moan over I have a dainty fairy size golden leopard on my lap

I agree with losing grey carpets

Not entirely a ‘like’ like, Twellsy. But the leopard is good news.

I don’t mind some greys as they can be a useful neutral but shiny grey carpet is not good.

Thunder with Epic & Biblical rain yesterday, today ‘just’ the Epic & Biblical rain.

Rice can be a great comfort food, Carinthia. I am so sorry that your guts are giving you trouble (spiteful blighters). DD enjoyed lunch (which would not have cut the mustard for you ) and it was grand to feed her from my own kitchen again. GD slept like the baby she is and we had a good time.

Tomorrow, we’ll bee off to Musselburgh to buy fish. I do miss the Fishwives, though.
