So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

Congratulations on your new lease of eyesight, TFM. It will get better from here on, if the experience of every single person I know who’s had a cataract operation is anything to go by.

Thanks guys. Right now, the adrenaline (lots of it!) has worn off and left me soooo tired. TFD is making a comforting macaroni cheese which will be followed by a nap.

Very pleased you’re home safe and sound. Have a good rest!

Seconded. Well done, that TFM!

I am preparing for great friends to come for dinner, which will comprise Goan cod curry, cauli and potato thingy and steamed brocolli. Guests bring pud (only fair).

That sounds delicious, Soo

I made some chicken sandwiches earlier & they were Bluddy Lovely.

4 portions of chicken, stuffing, Champ & gravy are in the freezer, & chicken stock is being made in the slow cooker.
The kitchen is the warmest room in the house ATM.

That sounds delicious! One can only dream.

We had a grand old time with our friends, last night. Such a lot of news to catch up on (possibly newts, as well…). Off to the kirk, soon. I’m hoping that our elderly companions decide to stay at home, for their own sakes. It is very cold and slippy. The one we take every week has decided to curl up with a good book instead. Phew!

Good-oh! Packages are always good. Well, unless they contain a xylophone as a present for a two-year-old…

Today’s package here contained a ukulele as a present for a (mumble)-year-old.

Excellent. When do the striped blazer, the boater and the boat arrive?

Gus, those are worthy of LadySusan - and I assure you that is a compliment! Wish I could reach into the screen and grab one.

I almost licked my screen, Janie…

Oof & Flump.

I have been into town because I needed an diary. I looked in WHSmith & found a lovely looking one but it was £11-99 !

I made my feelings known to a woman who was also wanting one.

When I found an sales assistant he told me that they were not reduced, & he didn’t know when they would be…

I stomped along to The Works, where I bought one reduced to £3, & when I got to the till there was another £1 orff.

The woman from WHSmith was in there too, buying an diary for £3…

I intended to make my first visit to the Noo M&S , but didn’t have the required oomph today, as it is quite a walk down to the retail park & uphill getting back into town.

I will go there first, another day.

I have gadded almost 6,000 steps so far, today. On Saturday, Sunday & Monday I felt so ‘off’ that I didn’t do 1,000, so itizz progress ovvan sort.

I wore my Middle Normous Nat, & my Poppy scarf & mask, so I looked & felt slightly less ovvan ‘bag lady’ than recently.

Oooh ta. Just the job.

Only one? I’ll have the rest then, they look so good.

I have been told I am Not Allowed to wear a mask at the moment, apparently it would result in me breathing germs into my eye. Since I have no intention of going anywhere, this does not bother me.

I have a bone to pick with whoever sent us snow

I have spent today feeling dreadful with v&d so snow is just a bit of a shock when we have a less than 5% chance of precipitation
