So, who wants to help ... to instaurate the cellar?

“So what is the ethnocultural significance of the stable, per se? Why shepherds and not, say, goat keepers? And what in fact was the census protocol at the time…?”

Possibly goats are sensible and have their kids in warmer weather?
Lambs tend to be earlier for our wanting Spring lamb

That’s a factor which would not have been particularly prevalent in Palestine at the time of Caesar Augustus.

Was there a picture of the ballgown, TFM?

I know that my new boots that are exactly the same as my old boots, from M&S, are exactly the same. They just feel strange and different. Most peculiar.

I have found that in the past too

Especially with ballet shoes

But once worn in they are a joy

My new boots are luvverly and so comfy

The funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.

Yes, people are buying these. They are putting their router in a Faraday cage and then wondering why it doesn’t work any more…

That story led me to this one: Coronavirus: Dressing up for bin night 'brings a smile' in Australia which made me think of Carinthia (though of course she would be more elegant). Next came the dancing zookeeper: Coronavirus: Melbourne zookeeper’s livestream dance goes viral whereupon I thought I’d better stop, though I was tempted by ‘Duo plays Titanic hymn to shopkeepers’.

That dancing zookeeper is a joy to watch

In Feral Techie Land, the router doesn’t do the wifi - that’s handled by dedicated wifi boxes through the house.

Of course, Feral is also aware of just how good an antenna an Ethernet cable can be, and you can’t cage all of those.

(Also, do they know that the Faraday cage is much better at stopping signals getting in than ditto out? Probably not.)

3C and sner showers with hail showers and sleet showers here

And the horrible yellowish grey underside to the clouds of inclement wintry weather

So I am plotting a nice spicy chicken and rice dish

With a peanut sauce and chilli oil for them as does

I love my Good Food magazine as it gives me ideas

Alas, the Frackle Fryers have changed their name, but we think we might see whether the fish and chips they make are any good.

All we need to do is to find out what totally unmemorable name the chippie has now, so we can check whether they are open this evening.

The chip shop wot takes contributions fer the Food Bank has been under Noo ownership since May, & now calls itself ‘The Crooked Fryer’ inna a nod to our famous Crooked Spire

The fish, particularly the haddock, is fabulous, & is all cooked to order. The pies are from the most reputable local baker.

I do like that I /one can just order fish. I have to be in the mood for chips.

25cm of snow on the campsite…

Is there a scale of bakerly respectability? Is there a league with hotly contested local derbies, e.g. WTT vs. Derby, each champion radiating flour and rectitude as they enter the arena?

I think we can safely say that there is a great deal they don’t know, esp those who pay an additional $29.99 for an extended warranty on a metal box.

I hope the campsite keeps their snow

I have prepped for a rainbow rice dish with a peanut sauce

I substituted padron peppers for aubergine so I cannot offer our Fishy some

It promises to be flavourful

But why does a FOOD magazine not give you which type of rice to use?

Currently I have severial types of rice in the hovel…

You’d already taken care of that with the peanut sauce, Dere.
How does the recipe tell you to cook the rice? That might give a clue.
