Good thought!
Yes, please. And leek & potato soup ;- )
I have made a rather attractive Insalata Caprese…

Fresh bread rolls just out of the oven
Butter on the table…
Yum! Tea! (well, fiendish ginger drink, but…)

I do have some blackberry and apple jelly, for them as does, and some apricot jam from that time there was a glut in Lidl and they were selling them for 10p per kilo.
Ooo apricot jam for sticking marzipan to cakes…
If one likes marzipan, I guess.
True
I am not a jam person but I love chutneys and pickles
And proper golf ball sized pickled onions
And use the vinegar in salad dressing
Marzipan-covered pickled onions! Now there’s a thought.
I never saw no apricots at 10p a kilo…

It may have been unique to some major cock-up in this town, I suppose. They certainly had so many of them, the whole of the end of an aisle, that it was quite alarming.
Fresh butter, if you ask nicely…
Asks nicely

No one would have believed in the last minutes of the preparation of supper that this table was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man’s and yet as mortal as his own; that as cellarites busied themselves about their various concerns they were scrutinised and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinise the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water.

Yet across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, sparrows vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this table with envious eyes, and slowly and surely sharpened their beaks against us.
Been gaming again? Something vaguely E E “Doc” Smith?
Oh yes they jolly well would have.
Wee birdie you appear to be channeling Mr HG Wells
I always ensure wee birdies get plenty of food from the table
