So, who wants to help ... to instaurate the cellar?

Shh! I’ve only just got the beacon working on Lakey Hill…

You don’t want me looking at you.

While you knit, Darling?

We saw a charm of Goldfinches, today, of 200+ birds. They were settled on rosehips and I wish that we hadn’t interrupted their re-fueling. Still - they’ll do what they’ll do.

If anyone has time to think, at 10am tomorrow, please remember Ellie, a friend of 51 years standing.

It’s her funeral tomorrow. Normally there would be 300 people in Church, but we aren’t allowed to go.

It’s very hard not to be able to give an old lady her proper ‘send off’

But she will have, in the thoughts and prayers of her friends, as proper a send off as anyone could hope for, Darling.
It’s a bit rough on the friends, mind: no hugs, no whiskey, no sausage rolls. Is it even legal to be buried without the last?
10am noted. requiescat in pace.

Thank-you Dahlink

She was very old, & very frail, but we loved her, & she knew it.

I have found the online funerals very difficult, as things that I would expect to do/be done, are no longer allowed. This includes things like lighting real Candles…

One of The Lad’s big friends is a Funeral Director, & known, in this house , as Doctor Death. They are struggling , as we all are.

Carinthia - I’ll be thinking about Ellie, you and all who loved her. The Poppy Candle will be lit at 10.

Well this afternoon didn’t work out quite the way I planned it, but I’m glad I started it by checking my credit card accounts online. Spotted 3 fraudulent transactions made yesterday and was then forced to spend forrrrrreeevvveeeer on the phone reporting it etc. All sorted now, I think (except that I know have to wait for a new card to arrive in the post), and at least no-one can doubt that they really were fraudulent - I would hardly be likely to be making payments to O2 when they don’t provide any services to the island.

Not nice though, TFM

Nasty, nasty feeling. Cloned card, or lost?

Details stolen from somewhere, has to be, this card has never left my possession and has only ever been used online, I don’t even know the PIN myself, shredded it on receipt. I find it useful to keep one card exclusively for online use, and have another that I never use online, that way when (seemingly inevitably) this happens then at least I still have the other.

Sensible precaution.
