We have it all to go through on Wednesday - changing broadband provider, so we should finally get the service we’re supposed to have had for the last for the last two years.
Among the litany of issues we’ve had to deal with:
- Being told FTTH wasn’t available (despite next door neighbour having it and engineer showing us the cable run)
- Being told we had FTTH when we were still on a copper wire
- Being billed for FTTH anyway
- Eventually getting a fibre connection, but at <100Mb, not the 1Gb we ordered and we were assured was, after all available
- Being billed for Gb connection anyway
Eir is not my favourite company to deal with. At one stage, we had Comreg on speed dial…

Oh, and to cap it all, the eir helpline is a 1800 number. Which you must ring on a mobile because as part of the line check they turn off your phone line. A phone call might involve being on hold for over an hour.
The monthly call allowance excludes 1800 numbers.

It rained for severial hours last night, & is 13 deg today. It says that the pollen count is medium level - tell that to my nose & eyes…
Extremely efficient at the Surgery, although they seemed to take more than an armful.
I was slightly early, & was seen, sorted, & back in the car for my appointment time.
