So, who wants to help... to perpetuate the cellar?

I’m sure that it is

The crumpets I bought yesterday are Kingsmill, so I will conduct a Taste Test

In the Slow Trawl through my kitchen cupboards, I have found 4 metal egg rings*, which look as though they would be suitable fer crumpets.

*I have never used an egg ring in my life, & suspect that my Mother bought them fer summat.
They are bright, shiny & Noo, & if anyone would like them, I am happy to post them to you

How tall are they? I suspect crumpets are best made with fairly tall rings, judging by the crumpets you see in the shops.

I have never used an egg-ring either, though I do have a fancy egg-frying silicon thing which is the shape of a sun in clouds: presumably the yolk goes in the small circle and the white in the fluffy-looking bit round it. I haven’t ever tried it; I suppose I ought to some time.

I think that’s why my friend used the smallest springform cake tin available, Fishy.

Have not always been too fond of fried eggs, & certainly never messed about with them.
Have never used & egg poacher either…

SFX of can of worms being opened…

I have 2 silicon thingies, you drop the egg into & then it into the water. Sort of an oval shape with the top removed.

They’re rubbish.

They take twice the time of simply putting an egg into spinning water and, silicone or not, the f’g egg sticks to them.

I also have 2 silicon egg rings for frying. … meh !

Waah! Hurty mouth. Very hurty mouth. Just spent a fortune at chemist in Sainsbury’s. Not a happy Gus.

Luckily my hayfever tablet kicked in at the right time to suppress my splutters and snotters, otherwise I would no doubt have been pitchforked out…

I have ‘Poachies’ which I use at the caravan. They are made of paper, like coffee filters

They do work well, & itizz far less messy, not having a water supply, sink or gas cooker available

I have had rare roast beef & lime pickle sandwiches fer Lunch.

One of my favourites
