So, who wants to help... to perpetuate the cellar?

Younger than me, actually.

But ancient compared to said pratmobile.

Also “ready to assemble”, which pretty much describes some of the cars I’ve owned.

Far be it from me to cast aspersions, but would anyone here know anyone who might know anyone who might know anything about certain individuals looking speculatively at our back door in (purely coincidental, I’m sure) close proximity to a tyre iron?

Skype must happen, in the morn, so that DD and SiL know that we aren’t moribund. Poodle will be involved, so I’ll post a pick, should you want it.

Best nights, Cellarites,

Gin, Darling

You’re bound to need it

I am following a music session on FaceAche which developed from my cousin’s children’s lockdown sessions.
This has expanded far & wide, & I have just heard my Father’s namesake sing

It"s all slightly surreal…

Talks of Mini Clubman Estates set me off. I bought one, in my early 20’s, for £100. I loved it, despite all it’s idiosyncrasies, like having to hold the gear stick so it didn’t jump out into neutral and it’s tendency to pull to the right when braking. That was easily solved by pulling to steering wheel a bit left as I applied the brakes.

One day I braved up & had a garage look at it as the front right brake obviously had a problem. I still remember the call in which he explained that the front right was fine. It pulled because none of the others worked at all :scream:.

If you use the brakes it just wears them down and you have to get them replaced.

I was taught to brake to the appropriate speed for the hazard then select the gear for the speed

Brake pads are cheaper than clutches apparently

I bit my tongue and neglected to mention my membership of motor clubs and general petrolhead credentials to the instructor!

Harrumph!

I set a table ready for my sewing machine adjust the lights and go to lift the machine

On my return a cat was draped on the table enjoying the heat from the lamps

And then I could not get the machine’s light to work so I lifted the destruction book to reveal the plug happily sitting on the sofa beside me…

Yep I AM a dozy bugga!

Ah, good old thermotropic moggies… I have heard of one who liked to snooze on top of a monitor, and was Most Put Out when one day the monitor was one of those new thin LCD ones.
