So, who wants to help... to perpetuate the cellar?

Look - when I want a cocktail, I don’t mean Molotov.

Most of the time, anyway…
In other news, not all toasters are created equal.

That definitely calls for explanation.

Nothing that exciting, really. I’ve always been of the opinion that a toaster is a toaster is a toaster; plug it in, bung in a couple of slices of bread and press the lever. Element heats up, toasts the bread, then it pops up. Not exactly hi-tech - and certainly not worth spending a fortune on.

Then yesterday, I got fed up waiting ages for what turned out to be a slightly warm slice of bread. Took the plunge and hit Argos for a fancy new four-slice one.

This morning I had toast. Hot, evenly-browned toast. Before the tea went cold. 2kW instead 1.2 makes a difference…

And it has a bagel function so I can toast crusts and rolls properly.

Celebratory g&t may be in order later

Coo. What breed? Is it enormous? I mean, how much larger than a standard two-slot one? And how tall? (We have work-surface size constraints here.)

That one somehow passed me by, Fishers.

Never put your plug in a strange socket!

At least, not without proper insulation…

This one:

There’s a two-slice version as well, but this one’s actually fairly compact (28(w) x 31(d) x 20(h) cm according to the specs. Basically a 1 foot cube)

A strong preference for copper-coloured has led to this

being selected…

Well, the previous toaster is toasting less and less evenly. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.

Ah, you should grease yer story first, then, or at least line it with baking parchment.

The copper colour is lovely, Fishy.

I, of course, was drawn to the red in both brands…

The 2slice toaster here is stainless steel, but the one wot was left in my caravan for me is red, & a ‘long slot’.

Raining here

Sigh

Not raining here, despite the fact that we were forecast precipitation all day.

And TFD’s new toy is a steam cleaner, with which he is working his way round the house making everything look like new. Walls, floors, curtains, upholstery, the fiddly bits in the shower that it is impossible to clean properly, nothing is safe…

Well, I just had a shower so I should be safe. I hope.
