Good grief, it is hot where you are! I put myself through the misery of air travel to avoid this kind of thing normally by coming to England at this time of the year, but for once it’s cooler where I am right now. Obviously at other times of the year we do get a bit cooler than you, as LadySusan can attest, having made a winter visit.

I certainly can! I seem to recall on one of the slightly ‘warmer’ January days it was minus 18 degrees, the same temperature as our freezer. With wind chill factor it could be colder brrrrrr Good for canal skating though

Yes - this! In principle! The heat, in this country, is almost always steamy-hot and unpleasant. Coolth is bliss, as extra layers can sort out any discomfort.
