We still have no front light. At this time of year, and with no visitors, it is less of a complete pain than it might be, but as the nights draw out we will have hordes of people falling down our front steps in the dark and landing in untidy huddles outside the front door. Not really a good plan.

Our front light is a fancy led bulb in a goldfish bowl alike glass globe

With that and the noo drive delivery folk adore the hovel as they can see to do paperwork

Never mind the fact it is for my benefit

Pore blind old bat

In other news the Bull is in my Good Books

A frock I have lusted over for months was on M&S sale in my size but I could not get it delivered for whatever reason was available

So as he is trotting orf to Cork for a nexam for a radio licence at the weekend and there is a huge store there my frock is being delivered to store for collection

Yes I couldn’t believe the price

After all my lustings and failures to purchase I feel the old saying of

“What’s for you won’t go by you” must have been at work

I have to confess that I don’t recall kipper omelettes but if I did have them I can confirm that I survived :grinning:

You must have got the unusual omelette making gene from our dad, his jam omelettes were a legend that I didn’t get to try as I don’t think he cooked again after I was born, not quite sure how he managed that

For some reason that reminded me of ‘the recipe for Duck à la Banana fortunately goes with him to his grave’

There is also rumour of duck-and-banana curry.

And a jam omelette featured prominently in ‘Strong Poison’, remember.

I have never had one, but then I suspect my omelette-making method might not lend itself readily to jam.

Please don’t try it, Fishy.
Your Omerletties are the best

Soufflé omelette. Whites whipped separately then incorporated into the yolks. Sweetened, for a jam omelette. Spoonful of rum is sometimes recommended.
With all due respect to Lady Susan’s and Janie’s papa, just
 No.

I begin to suspect the arsenic was merely a contributory factor in Boyes’s demise.

Did so! Perhaps I mangled the quotation and it should have been His recipe/the grave. The person posting that recipe is clearly an impostor, as well as a dangerous lunatic with depraved tastes. Depraved tastebuds, anyway.

The curry, now, that’s a different matter ;- )

Bananannananas do not belong in curry

Plantains yes but that is all
