My Sudden Daughter has just phoned, and is coming to supper and to stay the night.
She wants to have sausages and baked potatoes for supper.
Luckily we have both in the house! Well, raw sausages left over after the barbecue (defrosting from the freezer as I type) and raw potatoes in their paper bag under the sink, plus I can give her broccoli which I know she likes, and there is plenty of fresh fruit left from the previous visitors not having eaten it all.
What I would call an effort-free guest, now that I have made the bed.

I say Noo place, but it is actually the latest incarnation of the chipshop we were allowed to go to on Friday Lunchtimes if we had been well behaved at school, 49 years ago…

Our two beely ones are a tad jealous of our northern destination. Dear knows why, as most of our holidays oop north with them have been cool and damp.

is a poor substitute for a cold sausage, so I think the Cellar by and large might be all right with that. But I am strongly in favour of happy swaffling of gingerbread. It will be a key point in my manifesto.
