So, who wants to help ... to rattle on in the cellar?

Is any excitement due to a poodle arriving?

I would be stocking up on dog treats and contemplating collars with sparkles on them

That gorgeous girl deserves pampering

The Poodle treats are already in situ, Twellsy. Mindful of her slimline tuckup, we’ll be quite circumspect. However, she’ll be adored, fed, walked, played with and generally treated Very Well. I can hardly wait!

You are lucky, lucky people and I envy you the arrival of a Dear Delightful Dog (hereinafter a DDD). I have been deprived of my son’s DDD since they went to Furrin Parts and can’t really bring her back with them for the annual visit, since her fare would be double theirs and she would have to travel in a different plane and in a crate.

Maybe she’ll sometimes be able to come back from their next posting… Not so far away.

I go bed now.

Oh, Fishers, I didn’t mean to gloat, you know.
I miss having a Dog, quite a lot, and That Poodle is just totally gorgeous. Yes - a DDD.
Fuzzy hugs and best wishes for you and all Cellarites.

Oh dear Fishy please forgive a silly old bag for just enjoying the palpable sense of delight in a visiting dog

I did not mean to stir up sadness

No, no, Soo (and also Twellies); I wasn’t being sad (possibly a little wistful). I was rejoicing with those who rejoice. Very Roman.

Outside the kitchen window there is a pyracantha, and about half-way up the pyracantha there is a stripy snail about half an inch across, sitting there near the end of a branch and probably trying to pretend to itself that it is camouflaged there. It makes me wonder why it is there and what it thought it was trying to do, with a minor detour from that to what any snail may have as an object in life really – apart from more snails, which is pretty-much a given in any terrestrial life-form. What, about a spiky and inedible bush, was attractive to a snail, and why out on a limb like that? They’re all mad, these gastropoda.

But it is rather pretty sitting there outside the window, and made washing-up more interesting.

I have found snails in roses

Actually IN the centre of the flower

A very thorny plant is yer actual rose

Still the mistle thrushes enjoy picking em out and then sitting on the top of a large pot on the well capstone and dropping the snail onto the capstone

Then swooping onto the capstone and enjoying the contents of the snail’s shell

i am delighted by this performance

Here is a Snail, Hiding.

And here are some random ponies I happened to walk past yesterday, posing in the hope that Thelwell will come back.
