Many happy returns to the Fish. xxx
I don’t think I’m really cut out for this food blogging thing.
(Note cheeseboard disappearing at speed.)
There was this amazing meal, and good company, and a scarf covered in beads at the ends that was amazingly heavy…
And then there was My Neighbour Totoro because Myazaki causes me to go squeee …
And now there is a Minnow End.
I like birthdays.
It was truly wonderful, Fishy
I had Potted Crab with Avocado, & then Lion of Cod wiv Preserved Lemon, Smoked Squid & Squid-ink Risotto
Raspberry Vodka now
Happy Sigh

Oh I dunno, Hedgers, dere, you’re coming on a treat. And it was excellent material to work with.
Happy sigh…
Anna squee for the cat bus
Bacon butties ready
Fresh loaves cooling
I am at a loss about the cat bus
What is it all about then?
Yours
A sad old bat who has most of popular stuff doing a detour round her knowledge of life
Oooo that looks like fun
So the cat bus is benign
I had it down as a bit sinister from the claws
I hope Fishy enjoys it for a very very long time
The bus is benign but speechless. Totoro growls.
Miyazaki is better with subtitles than with dubbed American voices.
In this house we don’t do dubs.
It is lovely when one adores fantasy like wot I does
Note to self
Ask for more books for my kindle
I am now knitting a cat sweater for Mr Wells…
Idle question
When one is quietly in a corner knitting in an hotel
Why the blazes do people insist on asking
Are you knitting?
What is that?
Is it soft?
Then they grab one’s knitting and rub their mucky mitts all over it
It makes me cross!
Especially the looks of pity at the pore old bat with her rollator knitting to pass the time…
Try reading a book in public and the inane questions are even worser
Is that a book? - No it’s a bluddy gurt lump of blank paper
Is it a good book? - Why would I read a bad book
What’s it about? - magical creatures helping a hero on a quest
Do you like reading? - !!!
What do you like about reading? - It takes me anywhere I want to go you dolt
Will you read any more books after this? - Possibly one on how to repell eejits who disturb my reading!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggggh!!!
I know folk are trying to be friendly but really someone deeply absorbed in a book or tablet screen is providing their own entertainment
“No, I’m working with cosmic string to stop the universe unravelling.”
Meanwhile we have bin Out. Dunelm had some rather odd things wot clearly nobody could be expected to live without…
(how can you tell when it’s clean?)
(presumably to go with your copper kitchen)
(perfect for the discerning brothelkeeper)
(fits in a pocket, easy wipe-clean surfaces, I’ll have to tell me bruvver)
(do not confuse timer with tea ball)
Then there was Home Bargains but that can wait until later…
I’m glad that you had such an apparently splendid birthday, Fishers. As a family, one of our favourite films was Laputa Castle in the Sky, also by Myazaki. Truly happy times.
I am not surprised, Carinthia ![]()
Soo xx
What’s up, Doc?
So later there was Home Bargains.
Apparently it is Halloween Season already.
I don’t get it. Why should a laundry basket have motifs of birdcages, keys, butterflies, and… clocks?
Pasta? Pasta?
Unicorn steak, unicorn burger, lircorne bourguignonne…
It’s a candle. No, really, it is. It smells of mysterious volatile chemicals mixed up by someone who once smelled a pineapple and was trying to remember what it was like.
Remember to drink responsibly. I think the only way to drink these responsibly is to hand them to an underage kid and get some beer instead.
Jägermeister ripoffs are getting remarkably un-subtle.
You shop so I don’t need to, Hedgers.
Thank you.
Soo xx
I’m still deeply disappointed that Aldi didn’t have the G&T ice pops in Ireland…
