So, who wants to help ... to rattle on in the cellar?

Soo – double up your backslash. Type it twice and it’ll show up once. (It’s like that so that you can type various other characters, like hashes and underscores, which would normally produce formatting effects.)

joe – been a while since I was there but finding decent beer was not a major challenge. beerintheevening.com ?

I shall be hurtling off to That Germany.

Ooh, excitememt!

The sum being demanded, in an identical email apart from two details, is now $897.

That and the name are different, but cass51 has the same BTC wallet (bitcoin) as fidel82, apparently. Tsk, I do hope that don’t squabble about which of them gets what part of the money they won’t be getting from me.

Most of the people sending this stuff are using generic stolen-password databases. It’s quite unusual, now, to see the original form that you’re getting, where they actually bothered to match up an email/password combination with a specific site - most people use the same email address, and indeed the same password, in lots of different places, so the lazy criminal can save effort by simply not bothering to do that bit of the work.

Had a very enjoyable walk with That Poodle, through autumn-leaved woodland. When we returned, we discovered a Sparrowhawk sitting, large as life, on hedging at the front of the hive. Mr Bee hates these buggas and chased it away. It flitted as far as around the corner and onto our back garden fencing so, as he is prone to do, Mr Bee flapped maniacally around the corner to chase it yet again. Dear knows what the neighbours think.

I have just finished the polo neck on a 48" chest dark green Aran sweater with no sleeves, and realised I shall have to pick up about 100 stitches round each armhole and knit a “cuff” to make it tidy. That’ll teach me to think proudly that it was finished!

That’s a rather fine photo, joe.

Well, today, with luck the lawn gets its final haircut of the year and I will finish off cutting the laurels & ‘pruning’ (to a stump) the buddliea. Also trim the laburnams, which have gone crackers.

The flowering cherry is now leafless, yet the ash & maples remain full.

Then it’ll be tidy-the-garage & put away the garden chairs time. It’s been a good summer. I shall miss it.
