I will be thinking of you tomorrow
Thank-you
It will be good to be together, & the person who could really upset everyone is staying away, so that we can deal with things as a family
Middle 'Normous Nat is in the hall , as is me Black Loden Coat . Itizz very cold here, & Lincolnshire won’t be much warmer tomorrow.
An selection of scarves is being perused - we want a bit of brightness to break up the black

Frost on the solar panels this morning.
Go well, Carinthia!
yardarm
Chilly here with a lazy easterly breeze
Bacon butties are ready
Bread is on its second proving in the banettone
What a nice looking ale dear wee birdie
Any nice hoppy bitter please?
Magnificent Poodle!
[pourity] some Hoppit for Twellsy & anyone else wot does.
Only 50 posts to go in this Cellar…
Top Dog, indeed. Thanks, Gus!
We visited the Fish Quay, today - the Fishwives sent salutations to our Chatelaine - and later went out for lunch/tea/dinner/wotevva. Most enjoyable. I had (since you arsk) deep-fried mozarella with tomato and chilli relish, prawns inna hot sauce with spiralised veg and then honeycomb gelato with limoncello coulis. The latter combination doesn’t w#rk, really, but I scoffed it. anyhoo.

Talking of scoffage… I took That Fish out to the local restaurant that occupies the lonely intersection of “good food” and “vaguely presentable”.
Smoked sossinge. (We wuz a bit hungry.)
Crab ‘n’ avocado.
An action shot of boeuf bourguignonne about to vanish down the Fish.
Belly pork and (entirely superfluous) apple.
Traditional Fishly ice cream.
Apple crumble (I am really glad that crumble, rather than pie, has become fashionable again).
That looks lovely, Dunnock
It has been a long & tiring day, & the weather was filthy
Sigh
The funeral went really well - a healthy mix of tears & laughter, & the laughter continued afterwards at the Reception which was, very sensibly held in a very smart private room at the Funeral Home in Boston.Lincolnshire Co-op, but in a Listed Building.
My Darlings did very well, considering that the last link with their Mother has gone. The 4 cousins supported each other in turn & remembered shared exploits
The pall bearers served tea, coffee & juice, & the *Funeral Director’s wife had made the sandwiches & cooked the bought-in, but very good quality mini steak & ale pies, chicken & leek pies , chicken goujons, Sossing rolls, etc. There were chocolate brownies, a large victoria sandwich , & homemade mixed fruit tarts too.
The Fambly tradition of pickling continues too, & when we went back to the bungalow, we were each given a jar of pickled cabbage , & another of pickled onions . These are prizes indeed…
*Wonderful, large avuncular man known as The Fat Controller… there was a bitovva Thomas the Tank Engine thing going on, as Bill himself was mad about trains
Now wrapping stuff for BiL . I am supposed to be going there tomorrow afternoon. He is 80 on Saturday & there is a sort of Fambly Lunch at Launays on Sunday afternoon

A Busy day, Carinthia. I am glad it went as well as can be in the circumstances.
Does pickled cabbage involve vinegar?
That seems a bit strenuous.

I have received and rejected, at length. a Christmas table runner from amazon. I hadn’t realised just how bliddy difficult it could be. The ‘runner’ I had requested was gold and the one I received was rose gold. It simply won’t do. QR scanning is beyond our local Post Office. I am aiming to make my (very truncated) Christmas table look festive. Perhaps I shouldn’t arse myself.

Good to see the fish and bird were well fed and the wee
was well fed if
less
And I am very glad that the funeral was a good mix of tears and laughter as the best ones are
I have been busy making eyes nose ears and paws
for the bloomin’
jumper
I swear I will have it glued to his person when it’s done
It does look good though I say it myself
A good enough affirmation for me, Twellsy.
Best dreams, Cellarites,

Gin dear
Yes, Fishy, it does
The long dead Queen of pickled cabbage used to put a pinch of Saltpetre in each jar, so that it remained crunchy
Falls into a reverie
Resists slicing cold pork & opening the cabbage…
Sighs
It is prolly too strenuous, Soo, & I am staying until Tuesday to sleep it orff
I would prefer to go on Saturday, but I need to make sure that everything is under control
The Other Daughter & her Fambly are coming from Cheshire ‘for the weekend’ & I am hoping that Local Daughter offers them accommodation in her 4 bedroomed house 2 minutes away.
I am also hoping that Other Daughter does NOT bring the cat, this time…
Sheesh
