So, who wants to help ... to take refuge in the Cellar?

That won’t do!

What sort of red wine? Pinot noir, Merlot, Malbec? Shiraz? Or maybe Zinfandel?

If it’s chilled I’m not sure it matters. But if we’re to be fussy, a nice Peleponese Greek Syrtaki, Agiortikito Classico from Nemea thanks

Good choice. Just tell Darrington…

Goodoh, more of the rough peasant Burgundy for me.

(It doesn’t travel.)

That is too tiny for me to see, using this browser…

I was woken at ungodly o’clock by people come round to build a new fence between us and next door, it having fallen over in the wind a few weeks back and taken the wall it was balanced on with it. I’m glad it’s being done, sorry that anyone doing any work whatever anywhere always seems to have to start any work of any kind by hammering loudly and waking everyone up. They could have spent the first hour clearing the bits of broken wall off the ground, but no: some sort of piledriver for new fence-posts came first.

Don’t know about anyone else but I think I definitely need a

Does anybody fancy a midnight raid to liberate the contents of The Other Cellar and bring them here? Longer term, we could dig a service tunnel, cunningly disguised at the far end, and possibly install a conveyor belt.

Hot Cross Buns for them as does. Still yer actual Hot. Not too sweet. Crosses slightly wonky on some. I was a little worried but
The glaze, though scant, has turned out fine
And the buns themselves are quite divine.

Aisling, we get through the booze stocks so quickly that it’s mostly just a matter of redirecting the tankers.

You’re on! I can smell 'em from here. Bit of a chill outside, so I’ve mulled some plonk, but there’s plenty of Buck’s Fizz if you prefer.

That is a most kind offer, dere, but what would really hit the spot is a mug of builders tea.

No, I’m not sickening for anything

There is no need to liberate the contents of a cellar which was emptied when we left it. That is what happened with old cellars: they were left to be filled with rubble, after we’d done with them (which happened at 2000 posts or thereabouts).

The idea of “breaking in” to such a place was silly, and would not have occurred to anyone who had been accustomed to being in the previous 66 cellars.

Coming up, spoons in the bum cleavage…

No need to unload it, surely? We could have a booze cruise.

ewww. Did you have to?

Oh yes.

Ah, but it’s different now. They’re much too precious to handle all that rough rubble or dig a new hole.

Haven’t we all?

Those small tankers don’t hold as much as the big ones.
This one has a scheduled bus service between the stern and the bow. Maybe we need an upgrade?
