guess what I just found in Lowfield whilst (still, argh) writing up Fallon for the Directory?

Fallon and Harrison wake up together. The boiler isn’t working in the flat and they squabble gently about what is best on toast

No luck with boilers, those two: that’s two they have fritzed in a bit over two years.

Maybe the result of that incident was a cheapo bodged repair that lasted for about two years?
