After which Sean O’Connor claimed that Tony Hall rang him up and apologised, which if true was utterly disgraceful. (Both the apology, and going to the press about it.)

SO’C … I think I’m getting the word … “tosser”.

He was outed as an exaggerator, if not an out & out liar, and an outrageous self-serving oaf who would twist any story to his own advantage. The problem being it was always so obvious to those willing to see it.
