There were a whole series of embroidered/fabric art, heavily textured, littoral and O horizon pictures - phenomenally skilful work and deeply desirable. Although they would gather dust like a complete bastard.

One of my favourite ‘fabric/textile artists’, if I can call her that, is Michelle Mischkulnig . Her stuff seems to have a light, ethereal quality to it, with no suggestion of hardness

Twellsy dere It is considered bad luck to talk of those unfortunate and foolhardy souls who go out to gather limpets and are never seen again. But I can vouchsafe that they do not go easy.

I used to harvest limpets to sell as fish bait to townies to go mackerel fishing
I know that you act quickly or the limpets will pin your digits under their shell
You get a great view of the barnacles feeding while you try to wrestle the limpets back up off you

All they have to do is wait a few hours for the splashing to subside, and your trapped and drowned body will be prime limpet chow.

Aaah another thing about limpets is that they lift their shells to breathe
So patience is the best tool a harvester can have
And they hate grit in their shell too
The things you learn from patient sitting by rock pools
That’s what living on a beach does for you
