Yes; you cast on eight stitches with a tail to them, knit three rounds, and then double them by yarn-over, knit, yarn-over, knit all round. That makes a kind of a rosette for the centre once you put the tail up tight.

The colour comes ready-mixed, as it were: Sheepjes Whirls are wonderful.

Hover the mouse over them to discover the rather strange names. The one I used is ā€œTangerine Tambourineā€.

If I were to want a 40-inch circle of neoprene plus nylon, hemmed at the edgeā€¦ have the Denizens any recommendations for places to go? (Probably black nylon, certainly not patterned.)

Update from elseboard:

The Knitted Map of Ambridge was taken to The Archers studio in Birmingham last week, where it is now hanging.

It is hoped that there will be some sort of official ā€˜doā€™ next year.
