In the middle, dahlink ;- )

Yes; you cast on eight stitches with a tail to them, knit three rounds, and then double them by yarn-over, knit, yarn-over, knit all round. That makes a kind of a rosette for the centre once you put the tail up tight.

Only a month? It would have taken me far longer than that! It looks wonderful, Fishy, and I love the colour.

The colour comes ready-mixed, as it were: Sheepjes Whirls are wonderful.

Hover the mouse over them to discover the rather strange names. The one I used is ā€œTangerine Tambourineā€.

If I were to want a 40-inch circle of neoprene plus nylon, hemmed at the edge… have the Denizens any recommendations for places to go? (Probably black nylon, certainly not patterned.)

I have no clue wee birdie

I associate neoprene with wet suits for scuba diving

Trying hard to wipe the picture of a rubber fetishing wee birdie here!

With bits of chain and lots of stud work and heavy boots to the thigh

Do birdies have thighs? Not something I’d ever stopped to think about before.

Ditto to yer arse, if yer not careful;- )

Who does the carving in your house?

I use chicken thighs in cooking so I presume birdies’ anatomy is similar in all avians…

I can safely say that no-one in this house has ever carved a sparrer’s thigh.

Update from elseboard:

The Knitted Map of Ambridge was taken to The Archers studio in Birmingham last week, where it is now hanging.

It is hoped that there will be some sort of official ā€˜do’ next year.

Why?

'Archers studio ’ and ā€˜hanging’ in the same sentence is always going to get my attention, Darling, but I must confess to being a little disappointed…
