Thank you dear Chatelaine

A bee in her bonnet, one might say (if one wanted to be severely roughed up)

Calling wor Chatelaine

I tried to sew a bit yesterday and my machine won’t play ball

The back of the sewing ie from the bobbin is all loops and double threads

I am using Gutterman thread and a plastic bobbin

Help to analyse and fix the problem please as I am useless at that sort of thing

M my rehab assistant thinks the plastic bobbin could be slipping

It sounds as though it isn’t threaded properly, Twellsy.
Clean it all out & start again, making sure that the bobbin race is free of all lint, etc. Use 2 different strong colours so that you can check problems with tension.

Make sure that the bobbin is the correct one for the machine, & that itizz in the right way round.

I am sure that Mr Wells can enlarge the relevant bits of the manual large enuff for you & or your rehab assistant to see what is happening. The batting order is really important, & itizz easy to miss a step.

I got a note today to say that an order from Shetland had been returned to them after going missing in the post

I called and converted the refund into the pattern and wool for this pattern

I chose main colour of

and

as the next colour with

As the third colour

I think they will look good if my floats are up to snuff…

No his is a petrol blue colour and I am halfway up the back of it

12mm needlles should knit the heavy super chunky wool up fast!

The pink/green number is just a bonus for me

Lucky thing that I am

I like the fact that that company uses the clip from Shetland and adds value that makes sure the local crofters get paid a proper price for their wool

Pity poor B though as she will be trying to keep me on the straight and narrow following the pattern

Sorry, I thought that you couldn’t get the wool for Mr Wells.

Just got more of my Valentine’s present

4 cables that are a metre long for my assorted needles and a test tube full of bodkins and a pair of 40cm knit pro 8mm needles

Am I the only one who is thrilled with being presented with posh knitting stuff?

As it is my hobby I think such gifts are welcome and thoughtful

As was Ken

I do not need a cooking Kenwood but it’s a superb tool on the odd day I am baking for charity

A question for advanced knitters here

I have enough shetland aran weight wool to do this so I ask is it way beyond the beginner?
