Simple 4 panel A line skirt in assorted lengths
I really want the pattern to be shown off
And I am not sure if my lack of eyesight is up to pattern matching properly
Dear Chatelaine
Simplicity 2314
Should this not be in “Knittery and Stitchery and Stuff”?
Yes
Can you move it please?
Thank you wee birdie
That should work, Twellsy, but the pattern is rather fuller than a simple A-line skirt. You could prolly go for the longer version & not bother with a frill
Carinthia.xx
The longer version is 33" finished length. I seem to remember that the fabric has nap, so all the pieces have to go the same way

Thank you dear Chatelaine
I really do appreciate your wise advice on sewing matters
Yes I got a BIG reel of Gutterman thread to match the fabric
Did you get the skirt cut out, Twellsy?
I have only recently discovered that Guetermann make a thread from recycled plastic bottles & there are 55 colours to choose from.
I find that immensely cheering.

Skirt cut out sewn zip put in waist band attached and frill cut out
I shift at speed when I can with sewing
I spend more time fettling the machine than I do sewing pinning and pressing if I am honest
Do you take your own machine, Twellsy?

Yes as shared tools are

Or your neighbour, come to that.
Loaghtan waistcoat, at last.
The perspective on the photo makes it look bigger at the bottom than the top, which it isn’t, but never mind.
Oh, now that is Very Fine Indeed. A splendid garment.
Well done, and lucky TFD.
Gorgeous
Now I need to do something with the loaghtan/shetland wool blend. I’m thinking of this, but the pattern is 42sts x 16 rows on a chart, which is a bit off-putting, I go slightly cross-eyed looking at it.
That is a lovely pattern. I know what you mean about charts. So, convert the chart to written instructions. Will mean you only go cross-eyed the once: sure it will be worth the time invested.
Good luck and good knitting!
