Minor ache creaks and injury sympathy thread

There is nothing I can do (I wish there were) but I am sorry this is happening to you.

Possibly, Carinthia. The severity of pain is very transient, but I am using Voltarol gel when needed. Honestly, it’s not a Thing, but I want to sleep through the night, iyswim. The Egyptian Cotton and Silk help quite a lot, with this

Because inflammation plays a huge role in my condition, I have to take the strong stuff, & time the tablets so that I have 1 before bed. I can’t use topical stuff as well.

A different subject and a success story, just for a little light relief. (No, I’m not gloating. Really not. Not even a little.)

For about six weeks I was getting dizzy when I turned my head sideways while I was in bed (it woke me up, even). If I bent to look at the level of water in a measuring jar I nearly fell over. Every so often it felt as if I were very drunk, with the room whirling about.

And eventually, three weeks after I took it to the quack, I had an appointment with a different local doctor who specialises in ENT, and she listened to what I said, then sat me down on her couch with my feet up and turned my head to the left before lowering me gently backwards until my head was a little below the couch with her supporting it – and everything went whirly. Repeat with my head turned to the right. Same whirlyness. After two repeats on each side, everything stayed still when she did it, and she told me triumphantly that my eyes had stopped flickering. Apparently I had Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, which can sometimes be cured by “shifting the misplaced crystals”. Didn’t know I had crystals in my ears!

Then she had a quick look in my nose to see if she could work out why I get nosebleeds so often, and established that without my even snorting cocaine, my septum has gradually been vanishing…

So I now have a sheet of paper with Brandt-Daroff exercises on it for the vertigo if it comes back, and instructions to use a saline solution to wash out my nose twice a day and then smear round it with Vaseline on a cotton bud rather than any medicated cream – “We use a lot of Vaseline in ENT” she told me cheerfully.

The vertigo has not come back yet, and I haven’t had a nosebleed for five days!

That sounds great dear Fish

It was a speech terrorist who put me onto the meds that are helping my asthma to heal so the right person can be the answer sometimes…

Owww. Grumble. Moan. I’ve got this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side persistent ache down my left arm and into the hand and it is getting me down. Actually, it’s probably travelling in the opposite direction, up from the hand, which I believe is developing Dupuytren’s contracture.

Oh, and an edake.
and greenfly, the staggers and quite likely phylloxera and rising damp to boot;- )

Thank you, Darling. I’m sure it will sort itself out: just feeling sorry for meself. Positive thoughts for your friend. A spot of arson here wouldn’t do any harm, either ;- )

I don’t blame you for feeling sorry for yourself. It’s 1 damned painful thing after another.

Sigh

Friend was supposed to have surgery yesterday, but they wanted to make sure that he was 48 hours free from Warfarin.

As his daughter says ‘he’s 84, & seems to regard himself as being late middle-aged’…

You’ll get the whole gamut of Candles later…

That’s rather splendid really. A bit trying for one’s keeper spouse or equivalent biped, mind…

His lovely spouse is dead but there is a large family of children & grandchildren who are in touch with him every day.

As clinically vulnerable, we haven’t been allowed in Church, & he certainly won’t be anytime soon, but so many people care about him that the Candles should keep us all warm!

And if you try to look it up, they’ll say “panic panic heart attack call an ambulance NOW”.

I don’t think they’d be terribly impressed with palmar fibromatosis. They might even go so far as to Tut at me.

Dunno how I managed to hide this post before. Gremlins.

Poor Gus

Cellerati should not have pain in my opinion

I lit the BBQ earlier

Does that count for healing thoughts?

Definitely. As long as you hadn’t fettled it with sesame oil.
