So, who wants to help ... to cavort in the cellar?

Does voluntary childcare of an ebullient 4-year-old count as ‘self-inflicted’?

Poodle was walked and furfled.

Oatcakes with blue brie and tomatoes must suffice for this evening. Oh - and a naice whaite.

Tent set up and pegged down in nine minutes flat. Actually cool here, 21 right now as opposed to 32 at home yesterday.

I was very impressed that I ordered wool from a company on Monday and got email from Royal Mail this morning saying they would deliver it between 0925 and 1325 today.

Unfortunately they didn’t, so I went and had a look on their tracker, and that says " We have your item at Midlands Super Hub and it’s on its way." Which isn’t even local.

Stinkards. Luckily I didn’t actually wait in just for that.

Stinkards indeed. But tell us about the yarn….

Black 4-ply. Replacement yarn for remaking a sweater that was too big; unravelling it and using that yarn to make the smaller size simply didn’t work. So I have now knitted the body of the thing twice and will be doing it again a third time when the new yarn arrives. Makes a change from unpicking zig-zag stitch that was unsatisfactory because of faulty tension, from the backing of the bedspread. SIGH

Sympathetic noises dear Fishy

I have a interesting project when I get my hands on some black viscose

A pair of culottes on a yoke waist

The waist is too small so I plan to cut off the yoke and use the legs which are embroidered with a gorgeous floral pattern to make a skirt from a plain yoke and show off the proper vintage Monsoon design in a wearable form

Good luck with that, Twellsy.

Proffers Pitchers.

Today is, apparently, International Friendship Day.

Bryan the Blessèd went to collect my medication for me, & came back with only 1 item.

After 'phonecalls to the Pharmacy & Surgery, it appears that I may have the other 10 items on Monday…

One of them, Pregabalin, is an Controlled Drug, and, suddenly, they are not allowed to prescribe /dispense it more than a week in advance.

Why the ferk did no-one bother to tell me? I have been taking the stuff for more than 5 years.

FFS, Dahlink. I mean, it’s obvious you are just the woman to be selling it to the local suppliers.

What a clever birdie we have

Now I wish to speak to our resident limpet (aka calcium carbonate with bits in)

I have had inches of rain in the last few days so I am feeling short changed in the sun and warmth department of the weather

Don’t you know the old saying?

Women and weather will do as they please
And limpets and dogs just have to get used to it.

That’s new to me

Will a limpet adapt to freshwater when I forward my excess rain?

I do hope so cos I rather like it with its dry humour…

Threatening us with rain is like throwing Brer Rabbit in the briar patch.

In any case we have a hosepipe ban in force; bring it on.

Yes but I can envy them as has less damp weather than we do

The yarn has arrived, by Royal Mail Tracked 24, twenty-four hours after the advertised time and in a large plastic bag which says

"Our sincere apologies.
"We’re very sorry the enclosed item has reached you in this condition.
"If the contents are damaged or anythingis missing you may be able to claim for your loss. Please keep all packaging/ contents
“etc etc”

The original packaging had a less-than-one-inch tear in one corner of the outer layer.

Sigh.

And yes, the yarn is all there and is fine.
