Back to Ely market this morning and returned with another of the 30% ginger cakes, and this time I got a photo of the label before we ripped it off and scoffed the lot. So for all the interested bakers…

Not a baker myself, but I do note it’s all treacle and no actual sugar at all.

Museum announcement: “Starting in ten minutes, one of our volunteers will give a lecture on ‘Things You Didn’t Know About First World War Zeppelins’.”
Me, looking over at friend who knows significantly more about zeppelins than I do, and I know quite a bit: “I think that would be cruelty to volunteers. Let’s not.”

Another still day, but at least there’s a Grate Big Bird in the distance.

Quite a lot of rather loud birds earlier, and on and off still. They seem to be getting quite territorial, ahem.

There will be stirfry soup made today, not that it takes much making.

In case you ever wonder what to do if you meet a coyote, here is the following advice:

  • Stay calm and slowly back away

  • Do not turn your back or run

  • Stand tall, wave your hands, and shout at it

  • Pick up small children or small pets

I am sure I am not the only one to think that what was left off the last tip was “and launch them in the direction of the coyote then retreat.”

Were you likely to be? On a board with Gus on it? and me?

You know me better than that, o Fish. I would never launch a pet at a coyote.

Old Sparrer’s Advice: turn and run in a zigzag path, with the occasional hop or stumble to look wounded. I’ll be right behind you. Or something.

Yes, but small children?

Anyway, I seldom have any to hand.

Oh, sorry to imply you’d launch a pet at a coyote, Gus. I know you wouldn’t. But it is an either or choice, I knew you’d make the right one.

I could point my nearest small and febrile child at an approaching coyote and depend upon her projectile vomit infecting the blighter :face_with_medical_mask:
