Would be? We are!

Beats my achievement for the day, which is…

I’ve got out of bed. And even got dressed.

It may not be much but it is the first time since Tuesday night.

Bit by bit and gently is the way to convalesce

The first out of bed and dressed day is to be celebrated with a cup of tea and toast though

Take it easy, TFM. If your weather’s fair, maybe sitting outside, for a while, would be good.
Fuzzy hugs.

Thanks both. Sitting outside would indeed be good if the weather was fair but sadly we are surrounded by sea mist right now - probably not the best thing for me.

Most commendable: maintaining the best traditions of the Cellar in the face of the enemy mass air transit. AttaChatelaine!

'morning Gus. How is The Foot?

The Foot remains Hurty but is definitely not in need of Domestos pellets.
V.glad that you are up and about, Dere. Medicinals should be available at all times, remember. You don’t want that sea mist going to yer chest, now do you…

That is good news at least, hope it is less hurty soon too.

I have got the Convention Cold – it was almost inevitable. They bring these filthy Furrin Colds in from America and other such plague pits, and I catch them. And I sneeze, and my throat feels as if it is being sandpapered, and I expect to use up a box of tissues by this evening.

Groo.

I just hope to goodness that Carinthia hasn’t caught the wretched thing from me. It only got going this morning, so I can hope…

Oh poor Chris.

It is not necessarily from so far afield. Mine definitely came from Ireland.

All the germs get together and have wild parties in the hotel aircon, which also dries out your mucous membranes, thus rendering you Susceptible.

And all because it’s cheaper to disconnect the water tank than to clean it out every few months.

I am drinking Fiendish Ginger Drink and feeling sorry for myself. If it follows the usual course of a cold I should be ok by Monday when I have to make a bed and cook a meal for someone who is catching a plane from Heathrow on Tuesday and using us as a staging-post on her way back to America. And I definitely ought not to be infectious by then, so that’s ok.

There is always Actifed: we have six tablets left from last time I started to sneeze and drip. They will keep me from getting worse overnight at least.

Fiendish Ginger Drink :+1:

French Onion Soup? Probably the placebo effect, but it’s delicious and nutritious anyway…

Yes, but, Gus, I’d have to make it! Far too much like hard work.

There is that. Otoh you have a Sparrer and a food processor (and, I presume, onons)…

A couple of tablespoons of brandy before you add the white wine do no harm at all.;- )

I feel I should point out that sparrers have No Place in an onion soup recipe, even a BBC one.
