I haven’t written a cheque for years

Most tradesmen here give you the bank details needed so Yon cleverclogs of a Bull can pay instantly using his phone

I can frequently need to resort to calling my phone to find it!

Bear in mind that, unlike the rest of Europe, we in the UK still have to pay through the nose just to do a SWIFT transfer. And the domestic bank transfers we can do here expose the sender’s account number in such a way that the recipient can use it to set up certain classes of direct debit.

I haven’t used it for a while, which is prolly why I can’t find it

I meant to say. At the barbecue, I wanted to refer to something, and said “OK, so who here watches the Hydraulic Press Channel”. Every hand but one went up. I like my friends.

Right that’s 3 dozen mince pies in their box ready to go to the blind shop to sell to raise a bob or two

I will do more before I go in on Wednesday

The Bull is happily using his toy of the Dyson on the worktop to get spilled caster sugar up before it goes everywhere

Is there a way of dusting with sugar that doesn’t leave loads on the worktop?

I have an ancient Tupperware sifter, given to me by an Austrian friend, which is quite good.

I have a lot of ancient Tupperware, TBH…

In me student days I working in a factory which made tissue products (aka, loo rolls). Made & packed and put into poly-packed ‘units’ they were stored in the warehouse until people like me moved them by fork-lift truck to the delivery trucks.

(By the way, if, aged 16 to 22, you wanted a vacation job, driving an FLT was simply the best).

In the warehouse completed pallets were stacked 3 high, in lines 36 deep. A quick tot-up just now suggests a full line would have 186,600 rolls.

So, the day a colleague hit the botton corner of a line so hard that it fell, taking itself down, but then the next dozen or so lines with it was quite a moment. You could see them begin to go but do absolutely nothing to prevent it.

Domino’s? Pah !!

That’s why you need Bungee Bookplates. Also helps build up the muscles; let the book loose and it’ll re-shelve itself. Only £99.99 the dozen from Sparrer’s Bruvver Enterprises.

Use the steroid cream for the shortest possible time, Twellsy. It’s brilliant if it is the strong stuff, but it doesn’t do the skin many favours long-term.

Do you bath? I mean, as opposed to showering, not ‘how’s yer personal hygiene, dere?’. If you do, two things. Three, actually.
Firstly, wash the bits that need soap before bathing, to keep soap out of the bathwater.
Secondly, a muslin bag of oatmeal under the taps as you fill the bath.
Thirdly, 20-30 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil in the warm, not hot, never hot, water. Soak. Pat not rub dry.

I had eczema all over arms, legs, neck plus patches on abdomen for a (reasonably hellish) extended period. Those baths really helped.

Vodka for tomorrow’s funeral, Carinthia.

Good luck to the Fishly-Dunnocks with all of that roofing.

Cyber, non-abrasive scratchings to Twellsy.

Kind wishes to all. Out for lunch with DS, tomorrow.

Time for bed,
Soo xx

And if you have to rub, never against the direction of hair growth. You can let in all sorts of nasty infections - as I found out a year ago.

If you can find Epaderm cream, it’s very effective. Apply as moisturiser whenever possible; the advice I was given was that if you find yourself asking whether to slap a bit more on, the answer is “yes”. Always. Also use it instead of soap. It’s available over the counter, so no prescription required. When I was on the steroid cream a couple of weeks ago I was told to apply the Epaderm on top of the steroid; it worked wonders, but I’d advise checking with your GP first.

Just checked - you can get it in Boots:
