So, who wants to help ... to cower in the cellar?

As long as they haven’t just run out…

I have the lightly curried rice ready and kippers in a jug of boiling water and the eggs simmering

Kedgeree for them as does kippers (smoked haddock was not to be found)

Ulster fries for the sensible ones who worry about fishies biting folk that eat their cousins

Whippet lure deployed. Let’s see what bites.

I see, no objection to eating my cousins.

(Well, no, I’ve met 'em. Get them before they get you.)

Why does Gus want a whippet?

Has Gus a longing for a flat cap clogs and a piece of string with an emaciated dog on the end of it?

They are cute, small and relatively portable and can be dressed in giraffe onesies. Oh, and because apparently they don’t do scarabs (also small and portable but - I suspect - less easy to source animal costumes for) in Stockport. Wrong kind of pyramids, that Sparrer says.

Bengals are cute small and come wearing spotty pyjamas and need no walking unlike whippets!

I have a surfeit of the wee darlings so can send them to you

Oh, the other good thing about whippets? They are not a bloody cat!

Gus has a cat the way some people have mice.

Not unduly, thank you. It’s the bold and brazen behaviour of the Intruder cat - who interrupted my morning fag with an approach and a Look that clearly said “Make with the breakfast, Minion!” - that is irking me…

He bears a certain facial resemblance to a mogwai and it is therefore prudent not to drip water on the bugger, I feel.

Oh, poor Twellsy. Also bugrit.

I have just watched a bit of Blue planet 2 and seen a very clever fish

It is a tusk fish living in a coral lagoon and it uses tools

Fascinating

Whod’a thunk of fish using tools?

Isn’t nature wonderful and awesome?
