My news izz that we’ve had a Good Walk by a local lake.

The surrounding woodland was glorious in the sunshine and the birdsong was very loud and hugely uplifting.

In other news, I have lorst me celeriac. I know that I bought it, last week and it wozz specifically for tonight’s dinner (to take the place of mashed potato - Mr Bee izz welcome to this). The celeriac is nowhere to be found, fgs. So I shall roast some fennel, instead. But, it’s not the same.

I managed to put Mr Bee well-off lime pickle, many years ago. He wozz buzzin’ about, wondering how to perk up hizz fried egg on toast. I suggested lime pickle, as I was busy writing a letter of sympathy and really didn’t care about his lunch. He has never, since, eaten it. More for me, I s’pose.

I’m sorry that you are Knackerated, Carinthia xx

It will improve, I’m sure, Soo

Another blood test tomorrow

I really like a rare roast beef sandwich with lime pickle…

I’m sure that someone said that The Blessed Pataks was no longer available,& I am relieved to find that this is not the case. Sharwoods isn’t as good IMO

Sharwoods doesn’t come close, for me. Geeta’s mango chutney is good.
On the relatively rare occasions I use curry paste, Pataks is always my way to go.

I haven’t been able to find Sharwood’s lime chutney for years; I think they stopped making it and started to do pickle instead, and it is not the same and not as good.

It used to make a good curry very good if you added lime chutney instead of mango chutney…

ooooooooh.

But I agree, o Fish, the pickle is much less sweet and of a quite different flavour.

That’s interesting, Fishy

I was brought some Sharwoods Lime Summat to Carinthia by visiting BiL . I thought that it was Pickle, but it may have been Chutney . An Austrian friend took to it inna big way, & spooned it out of the jar & into his mouth

It didn’t last long…

Ha! One of life’s minor pleasures is letting a pestering two-year-old have some of what they think they want when that thing is Lime Pickle.

Geeta’s make a lime and chilli chutney (haven’t tried it, as yet). Apologies for misspelling the brand, earlier.

I would not have thought that pork sausages with marmalade in them would be really very good, but they are. I took a punt and bought one each to go with the ordinary pork ones, when we were in the Cheese farmshop, and I was absolutely right to do it! Coo!

They sound interesting. Good interesting, I mean.

Sieved Oxford marmalade let down with soy sauce (although I imagine L&P would work for them as doesn’t do soy), and a drop or two of vinegar makes an excellent glaze for baked belly pork strips, btw.

Or mushroom ketchup rather than L&P, perhaps.
