So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 1)

A touch of arson here too, Darling. Everything crossed.

And hurrah for the Chesterfield Arms.

I was in 2 minds about going for the prescription, as I felt very much akin to an Boiled Owl, but I am glad that I did.

It was nice to sit outside

I haven’t looked at the calorific content of the pate, but itizz Bluddy Lovely, & so tasty that I don’t need much.

The Spar shop opposite The Chesterfield Arms sells it, so I stocked up yesterday.

It’s their own coarse pate wiv mushrooms.

Tiny Tesco used to sell one too, but then changed supplier & went on to smooth pate, which I find very ā€˜clarty’.

When I was a Saturday girl at Woolworths, I often used to work on the ā€˜Deli’ counter, where the pate came in ceramic/stoneware dishes. They were highly prized, & I still have some…

Somewhere I have one of those, though mine came from Gateway: white ceramic with a blue pattern. It eventually had to be demoted from food to having hyacinths grown in it because the interior glaze cracked.

Safeway used to do them too - the Ma had a couple at one time.

I had the dark green ones, & used them as open vegetable dishes, as I wouldn’t pay the price fer the ones which matched my china.

They are now used as plant pot ā€˜outers’.

One of my Great Aunts kept guinea fowl - nobody could sleep through their racket.

So…I made the vegan keftedes. I added mint, parsley, cumin, rose harissa, tomato purĆ©e and a whole can of tomatoes and they remained ruddy tasteless. Mr Bee reckons they have possibilities, I reckon I should keep the takeaway menus handy.

Botheration, little Bee. Are you sure that your taste isn’t impaired post- Plague, as they sound as though they should have been rather good?

I can taste the wine just fine, Gus. The recipe was one of those earnest ones - loads of pinto beans, flour, milled flax seeds you know the sort, I’m sure. I made a decent salad with a punchy dressing, so there was food.

We’ll bee off for lunch with DS and DiL, tomorrow. Best nights, Cellarites.
