So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 1)

I roasted chicken thighs & drumsticks last night, so am now making stock from the bones.

Today I have made a wall hanging and two table centrepieces then shopped in the butcher and finalised my Christmas order then to Aldi then to Tesco and then home to make pasta and prep a simple carbonara

May I have a sit down now?

Please?

Though surely more dangerous if not?

Because of taste, texture or (after-)effect?

All of the above. It had been a long trudge in the rain to a pub that had, it turned out, changed management since the latest Good Beer Guide had been printed.

Morning all

Party night tonight at the hovel

A silly night to play around the theme of pink

While we watch Barbie - pure silly escapism

Catering is simple

Frozen party food as a buffet and pink prosecco and white zinfandel to slurp with pink lemonade to wash it down

Biodegradable plates to eat off and napkins with cocktail sticks to pick up your food and just a simple night of pure daft escapism

My Christmas jumper which is a soft pink with squeakwinned penguins on it

As ever subtle and unobtrusive

You know me - dainty and ladylike all the time…

Just as well I have my own bitters

Though I reckon that gin dubonnet and lemonade or tonic is a nice pink gin

I went into town at 2-30. Had an taxi as I had 2 bin liners full of Flingage for the Charity shop.

I did a bit of shopping, including cheese from the Cheese Factor, & an huge sourdough loaf from the Polish bakery stall. This is now divided & in the freezer, apart from the 2 buttered crusts wot I have just eaten…

Happy Sigh

Similar day here. Had to collect order of sossingemeat and Cumberland sausage from market by 2pm, which happened to be held by a proper organic cheesemaker (none of yer Mankwold shite!). Curiosity led to couple of samples being tried, which rapidly turned into rather large hunks of seriously mature cheddar and some very interesting sheep’s cheese. For the curious:

To get from the the market to the car, we had to pass the local branch of O’Brien’s Wine (I wonder how that happened…?) which is the only known source of Hermitage* as, worryingly, it was not listed on their website. Mission accomplished, I’m happy to report!

*Unless ordering by the case (If only…!)

‘…our cheese originates on our farm in Carlow using milk from our own herd of goat, our flock of sheep and our neighbour’s cows.’

Has the neighbour cottoned on yet, I wonder.

Crackets, we’d call them. Though, that’s as much to do with mining as milking…By the way - apart from moi - who(m) of us could milk a cow?
