So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

I was unilaterally made an appointment to be rung by a cardio nurse between 8am and 10am on Wednesday 4th, by text which arrived shortly after 14:00 today. There is no way I am prepared to keep this at that time of day. So I rang them, and they didn’t reply for forty minutes. Aha! I thought; busy people, I will ring the appointment cancellation line and see if they can change it.

That was at 15:13.

At one point they told me they would not be answering calls at this time and I was to hang up and try again in a few minutes, so I hung up and went for a pee and then came back, redialled, and held on some more.

I expect they go home at 17:00…

Not a like dear Fishy

Well, either they have left the tape loop running and gone home, or they go on working after 5pm.

Sparrer reckons the former. Luckily I am on a call “bundle” so this is not costing me £££££s as well as hours of my time.

They should work after 5pm, Fishy. My Surgery stays open until 6pm on a ‘normal’ day.

Bluddy frustrating for you.

I have given up. More than two hours is too long out of my day to spend on the phone to what seems increasingly like a defective phone line.

Easier to call at the Surgery when you are out & about.

Gawds, that’s a sad fact, isn’t it?

This is the cardiology department appointments team at the local hospital, and I have no idea where they hide.

Ah.

My Rheumatology appointments now hide in an NHS portal. They either use that now, or snail mail…

At least I got a day’s warning; snail-mail appointments notifications tend to arrive after the date the appointment was supposed to be on.

I have had 2 which were 4 weeks too late…

Sigh

Yeah, well, if it takes an entire afternoon to be unable to inform them that I can’t keep an appointment they made for me without consulting me, I am truly unsurprised that they get a lot of missed appointments; most people probably think “the hell with it, I cba with this” after the first hour or so of hanging on the phone, and don’t bother to let the appointments gonks know they aren’t going to show up for whatever reason.

Yer poor bees have been let down, again, with the house we had hoped to buy. No details, here (I could write a thesis), but we are very disappointed. Meep.

Dinner was baked veg with tortilla chips - not a recipe I would recognise, again, but it was the best I could do and it was grand.
