Ach we are in farming territory here where food is measured in quantity as well as quality
Common critique is
“Great feed there - You could hardly clear your plate”

Which is fine if one is a working farmer.
Goat’s cheese can be a bit hitty-missy, I think. At a wedding we recently attended, the set menu had a baked goat’s cheese tart for the first course. I was sat with three people (including Mr Bee) who very much disliked it and, as an appetiser, it didn’t even work for me. But, then - I don’t have a hearty appetite.

With an organic goat farm/cheese dairy about 15 miles from Galway where we are fresh gorgeous reliable goat cheese is a good staple on many Galwegian chefs’ menus
Similarly Co Clare where the hovel is
Nice fresh non goaty goat cheese is a delight
Told you we live in a factory
Valençay. C’est tout.
Cheese wars!

They all look interesting.
Can’t imagine deep frying an ash covered cheese though. It will have been one of the plainer ones.
Soo, I find that the stringent stuff gets used in general catering along wiv under baked general catering pastry.

ETA: I obviously meant strident/astringent rather than stringent…
Obviously

Yes - a gentle and creamy goat’s cheese would be my choice and not the acidic and rather narsty stuff we were offered (ungrateful bee).
Walking, as we were, we met up with a young lass (around10) riding a Shetland. She stopped for a chat about her pony, competitions and all sorts of stuff. What a delight she was! Open, friendly and happy - quite a tonic for we oldies! And then…a cyclist actually pulled over on the narrow track to let us pass…first time for everything.
Dinner will be conchiglie with fennel etc. I’ll post the recipe in the proper place, in case I’ve not done this before.

It IS a delight when one encounters happy polite and confident young ones
As for catering for large events the horror of deep fried cheese is usually rag end bits of cheese that has been industrially breaded and frozen so you can just fry from frozen and that blands out most flavour
Oof
I have been to One Stop for the first time in months, fer Supplies.
Earlier, I checked the tealight supply 'cos of the vast numbers lit here recently, & it isn’t good.
I gathered together me old wax, & poured Fork Andles, so we should have 60+ hours of Candlelight.
Happy Sigh

Shrouds”
What?
“Shrouds.
Several large, strong black plastic bags
And a reel of 2-inch, or wider, adhesive tape
Can make adequate air-tight containers
For deceased persons
Until the situation permits burial.”
No I will not put my lovely wife into a large strong black plastic bag
No I will not put my lovely children into large strong black plastic bags
No I will not put my lovely dog or my lovely cats into large strong black plastic bags
I will embrace them all until I am filled with their radiation
Then I will carry them, one by one,
Through the black landscape
And lay them gently at the concrete door
Of the concrete block
Where the colonels
And the chief detectives
And the MPs
And the Regional Commissioners
Are biding their time
And then I will lie down with my wife and children
And my dog and my cats
And we will wait for the door to open
