She is being transported up to Embra, tomorrow, for a much-needed hairdo, on Saturdayā¦ Weāll stay overnight and travel back south on Thursday to await news of incipient plasterers that may make us hurtle north, again. Well, thatās grand.

I now have a Barbie pink cast on my foot and leg

When we moved in here we were seeing very few birds in the garden and we have been trying to plant stuff that would attract them but I didnāt expect to see what I saw this morning. I got up early, stumbled into the kitchen and saw a flash of colour - there was a jay, of all things, sitting in my baby maple tree. Donāt think Iāve ever seen a jay in a garden before, only in woodland.
