So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

I venture to suggest that it’s not just a narwhal she’s on.

I read, ‘a warrior queen who does not suffer tools’, which seems fair enough to me.

Today has been fun, with lots of laughs. Dil’s risotto was horribly overdone, so we had our bottle of Chenin Blanc as a gift. The Hilton was fine, but just the same as many.

Back to Peebles and it feels like sanctuary.

Tell your DiL that this is the sort of Christmas that gets looked back on with love and humour

Beef cut with a spoon and the red wine gravy was perfect for Yorkshire pudding to sop up

I were a bit naughty and finished the gravy with butter so it shone beautifully

I do love a good gravy

I finish most of my soups, gravies & sauces with butter, TBH…

Gawds to overdone risotto. Must have been like baby food…

It wozz vile, Carinthia. I gave DiL my veg, which she ate happily, but it wasn’t a meal.
Anyhoo - we emerged unscathed, which is always a Good Thing.

And so is a BM for two.

Inna bad-mannered way, I’ll share our program for tomorrow. We’ll ‘pop’ over to Embra to share Boxing Day with 8 adults, two toddlers and Poodle. Dearie me. It’s sure to be fun.

“Why don’t we take Poodle for a bit so that all you lot can socialise?”

Quite. But no…Mr Bee loves that cunning ruse and insists that it is his time with Poodle. I am doomed to (further) socialisation. Off to bed, soon.

I am happily flicking through my Christmas present cookery books and thinking of what I fancy making

I like the look of inverted puff pastry

And we have a ham simmering happily filling the hovel with a beautiful smell of ham

That must be reassuring….

Yes; if it were filling the hovel with a beautiful smell of of roses, or freshly-ironed sheets, there would be something seriously wrong.

Or scalded fevvers. Just sayin’.
