Happy Birthday, Carinthia Darling. I have been a busy bee, after the Embra stuff, and have made Cheese Scones.

Happy Sigh
Bluddy 'phone went abit wappy this afternoon so have been sorting that out (!)
A combination of 'phonecalls /messages didnāt get through, & the Internetty appeared to have been broken for a while.
It appears to be ok nowā¦
Earlier, I ended up in tears in Tiny Tesco.
I had gorn to fetch Supplies, & picked up a couple of bunches of reduced price roses/spray carnations to rescue along with said Supplies.
I was chatting to another older woman customer about various things, & how pretty they would be when I had given them some attention, & mentioned that it was my Birthday today.
I finished my shopping, went to pay, & she was in the queue behind me.
She leaned forward & told the assistant to put them on her bill, because she had enjoyed our chat.
Me Bluddy mask was wet through with tears, & then it Hissed it down all the way home.

Dear Chatelaine I am so happy to hear that you were the recipient of a random act of kindness
You deserve more of them
You have brought back memories of peeler station kitchens
How they were not more of us off sick from food poisoning I will never know
I am conducting a small survey with a very atypical sample.
Supposing that I have not previously explained this word to youā¦
If I say āantikittenā to you, what do you think I am talking about?
A saving from feline attention to knitting device
I think Iām too atypical to help here, given that you yourself have explained this to me before, elsethread. I had no idea before then though, if that helps at all.
Isnāt that the wool-winder jobby, Fishy?
Thank-you Dahlink. I am delighted with them.

It is indeed the wool-winder, designed to unkitten snarls in the yarn. I just wondered whether people who hadnāt already been told that would guess it in a month of Sundays.
I only knew it because I consort with knitters⦠![]()

This is an enquiry for Twellies.
We have noticed that That Cat really prefers water from the flower-saucers out on the stoep, and not water from the tap, and have come up with a working hypothesis: she dislikes the taste of the chemicals in the tap-water.
I donāt know whether you have a chlorinated (or otherwise chemically treated) water supply as well as the wells, but if you do, are the leopards similarly fussy about drinking only un-treated water?
Hmmm
No cats here, but an very interesting question, Fishy.
So many moons ago (when I was young & charming. Pace G&S), we had German friends to stay at the caravan.
They brought their dog
For 2 weeksā¦
Anyhoo
I had an water container wivvan tap onnit.
It was left outside & used to rinse hands whilst cooking/doing other jobs.
I used to put water-sterilising tablets innit to stop any bugs.
Anyhoo
The dog wasnāt happy, & not drinking.
We/they couldnāt understand why, until I realised that the lady had been giving the dog water from the container rsther than walking 20 yards to the āstandpipeā tap for fresh water.
BiL, & friendās cats wouldnāt drink water in the houses either, only outside.

Poodle thoroughly disliked the tapwater in our previous hive. Sheād cope happily with muddy puddle water and also our filtered stuff that had stood overnight. I am certain that our tapwater was over-chlorinated.
