So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

Thanks to all for the anniversary congrats. We’ve had a happy day with an excellent dinner (I’ve saved a couple of s&p prawns for the Gusly one). Now sipping white Rioja, mindful of the fact that we have to be up with the birdies for a ‘gas safety check’. Ugh. Renting is all very well, but it does have its drawbacks.

Thank you, Soo. Delicious.
Glad it’s been a good day.
The gasman you should, canonically, have put off until Monday morning, but that probably wouldn’t work with Embra.
Sleep well

Sorry, Fishy. I wasn’t ignoring you.
This 'phone has been abit temperamental today.

Scrape off as much wax as you can then put the holder into a bowl - pot or glass with very hot water & a very generous amount of washing up liquid.

Leave it overnight. Dispose of the waxy water carefully, & wash as usual.

Thank you, Carinthia. I will try that. It has just built up rather too much, I feel.

I have been to the hairdresser and got a noo auburn colour with very light golden highlights

Are you using tealights with it, Fishy?

Standing the tealight in an old jar lid helps to keep the glass clean.

Now there is a thought! Thank you again.

Even standing it on a couple of layers of foil helps, Fishy.

Sunny and breezy for us, today. Had a grand walk along the River Tweed (many walks there available) and lunch was provided by a coffee shop - fab minestrone soup. Happily ensconced in the hive.

Sunny and not breezy here, just back from a walk along the river.

Question for Gus: What name do kingfishers answer to?

Doris?

(The question didn’t arise, as far as I can remember.)

I’ll try that out next time I see one. We managed to catch sight of one speeding upstream just above the water and then saw it fly back and settle on an overhanging branch, so got a really good look.

I saw a gorgeous little Dipper, doing its thang today. A Heron, Oystercatchers and many other birds. It’s like being on holiday, every day. Good nights, all.

Frost on the solar panels this morning—and a squirrel on the shed roof, who presumably hasn’t heard about Grate Big Birds yet.
