So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 2)

I thought that all those things in the Scottish Wildlife Identification chart were Wee Beasties, not beasties. Beasties in my experience would be for what other less insouciant peoples call foxes, badgers, sheep, cattle, dogs, goats and so forth.

Not sure how I score on the insouciant scale, but things the size of cattle are Beasts as far as I am concerned.

Some goats too…

I have a feeling that cattle are quite specifically known as ā€œbeastsā€, as in ā€œhe had a herd of fifty beastsā€, when you don’t want to specify whether you mean dairy cows or cattle being reared for their meat.

Fifty head of cattle? Just to confuse matters.

Sheep are sheep or what we ate for years - hoggets that were slaughtered then butchered on the kitchen table then frozen

Today, I have had buttered Noo potatoes wiv leeks & garlic salt.

Later, there will be boned chicken thighs poached in chicken stock.

I will make an gravy using said stock, & a little stuffing.

It smells deeply savoury & delicious so far… :fork_and_knife::wine_glass:

Prescription only though, Twellsy, so those ovvus without infected eczema /dermatitis could be abit stuck.

I try to avoid the Bitey Bastards around, & use Incognito when out & about.

I’m sure that I smell different with all this medication though.

I’d expected some midge assaults in Galloway, but I didn’t see one, never mind being bitten. As with you, Carinthia, Incognito is my defence.

The Embra crew were in fine fettle. I usually try to make a meal for lunch, but we had a load of tapas instead and it did the job. Poodle is booked in for her next holiday, towards the end of the month, and I have ordered GS’s present in time for his 3rd birthday party before the Poodley visit. Dentist, tomorrow morning, for crown prep for a lower molar and breathe.

I have had soup for lunch, as I’ve endured a crown prep on a lower molar. :grimacing: For tonight, I’ll make deep-fried spicy king prawns with cauli/potato bhaji.

In my experience a high-level landing usually means an unexpected plateau, cow, hedge, police car, etc.
