Simple yet tasty home made bread and local smoked bacon nice and crispy
I use butcher bought streaky which is heavy on the meat and the fat just renders out
Kerrygold butter and a bit of mustard made with powder and water just lightly spread on the butter

Freezer Fodder here today.
Smoked mackerel pâté fer lunch, & roast pork wiv onion & mushroom gravy, stuffing & mash fer later.
Celery, apple & onion salad will be taken at some point.

Better but not well. If I go out later, which I may do to get a key for the new car (it only had one), I shall go into Boots for some strawberry Strepsils.
I can’t get over the fact that “In Norway they are sold without active ingredients under the Repsil brand.” This rather suggests that any old suckie sweetie would work just as well!

Well yes, it’s the sucking action wot lubricates the froat. I wouldn’t worry too much about sugar whilst you
are ‘actively’ unwell. You can avoid it elsewhere.
Soup or broth may be your next soothing thing, especially if it’s chicken.

I find that the Strepsils for blocked nose are rather good for throat and nose
Sore throat easing with a lemonade sweetened with hunny is also good

Honey & lemon has long been used for sore throats. Strepsils make a version too, as do most reputable companies.
Ginger helps, so Fearsome Ginger Drink may be called for.
In the medicines cupboard I have just found out of date menthol Strepsils, & yesterday I found positively ancient Codeine & Paracetamol tablets with a best before date of 2011…
