Some time around 1989, I think. At least, that’s when I used to gig there regularly, so was around to witness an OK chipper in Punch’s Cross transform into a rather excellent steakhouse - long since gone, alas. That was where I got addicted to wholegrain mustard with Guinness… (also long gone… :frowning: )

Weekend meals tended to be below par when I was in, too. I began to suspect the caterers worked Monday - Friday so on Saturday and Sunday you got stuff that could be frozen and reheated.
