You could make a good case for Stanislav Petrov, too (“if the Americans are making a first strike, why are we only seeing five launches?”).

“Please stay on the line. We’ll be with you as soon as we can.” has a certain poetic ring after the first forty repetitions…

Tracy is still throwing up in the break room; I told her last night the Widow’s Kiss was a mistake.
If you sound male, you don’t want to talk to Alice in her present mood.
And I am only waiting for Cathy to arrive so that I can go and pick up my “coughing” child from the nursery.

All now sorted, and explained by cashback. I found the receipt for a Tesco visit which ended in 14 pence.

I have also discovered that my shiny new crap-phone cuts off any call at five minutes or thenabouts, which is a nuisance if you are in a queue ten minutes long.

Perseverin’ sort of Fish. Glad it’s been explained. Annoying about the phone, though.

It’s French. It’s what they do. (Only, being Alcatel, it doesn’t make up for it by being stylish.)
