I will worrit about you till you get back!
Worrit worrit fret fingernail chewing and eyeing up my toenails to chew as I fret and wait
I am no good at patient waitingā¦
[early pourity]
Thank you dear wee birdie
Would it reassure you to know that wor Chatelaine too has been experiencing intermittent Connectivity Issues?
Yes a bit
I just worry about anyone going out in this weather
Even limpets!
Iām about to go out into blazing sunshine and ⦠-11°C. But I wonāt be cold; it takes me almost as long to get togged up as to do the walking part. Warm coat, warm socks, warm boots, great poofy gloves, glove liners, ear band, woolly hat tied under chin, neck warmer that pulls up over face and a hood on the coat. Oh, and a pointy hiking stick in case of ice. Or just wanting to stab someone.
Bit awkward when oneās nose starts to run.
Next time, put the pointy stick down before blowing your nose, dearā¦
I am back
The Internetty has been of the āopen the door & shoutā variety today
Twellsy, stop with the Extreme Fretting. It has not yet snowed, itizz just Frigginā Freezing.
I was going to walk to the shop, but got delayed by 3 'phonecalls, so I drove.
Martyr & red onion salad, which I will have azzan starter, followed by pepper steak, & roasties are on the Me&You for this evening.

Phew!
I am happy you are back and safe dear Chatelaine
The steak was lovely, & there is enuff for an steak sandwich tomorrow which means that I donāt have to think, or cook onna Monday.
Passing on wot I think izzan Top Tip from elseboard:
I always avoid tipping fat down the sink, but donāt save it, unless itizz good, like dripping.
The idea is that the fat is poured onto any cheap oats, & put in the āfridge. When you have enuff of aā cakeā, it can be used instead of a fatball for Discerning Birdsā¦

Fat izzan rare product of cooking, hereabouts, but I think that to be an good tip. I prolly wouldnāt use it at the mo, on account of sightings of Roland (not for a long time, tbf).
Walkies today comprised a stroll about the village but we āmet upā with many neighbours and had a good chat. Something that became clear is that many around us are really feeling the strain of the thing that is happening else-thread.
Dinner has been baked cod loin with spicy roast potatoes and steamed broccoli.
ETA Off to bed. Good nights, Cellarites.
Soo xx
Gin, Darling
Youāll be readyā¦
I use very little fat in cooking, & good meat has a marbling ovvvits own, but I do use olive oil, & butter for cooking.
I usually save meat juices, for when making stock, but not certain fats.
I donāt actually feed the birds here, as I too am concerned about Effing Roland, & also the Double Effing Foxes, which cross my tiny back garden as though itizz their own
Sigh
I might consider the odd fatball for tbe garage roof thoughā¦
I will consult Helpful NDN, who will be delighted to be arskedā¦

Sounds a useful sort, Carinthia. Our NDNs seem, generally, to be depressed.
Kind wishes forran gentle Monday. Iāll be thinking about you.

This one is Raging About Restrictions, as he hasnāt grasped the enormity of the Shite Situation
Howsumevva
He brings my bins back, & cuts the hedge so that I can drive into my garage more easily, & tries to be as helpful as possible. A conversation about rodents, bird food & effing foxes should keep him occupied for a couple of weeksā¦
He relays everything to his poorly wife, so double the value
I have never yet met her, despite them living here for the last 4 yearsā¦

Morning
Norn Iron pictures of sner
One woman is totally daft I think
I wonder if I am related?
Lovely pics, Twellsy. Hereās a cheery snowman I saw on my walk yesterday - yes, he is almost the height of the lamppost!
Such a happy soul
Do Canadians do as hooligans in in Norn Iron do and kick snow sculptures however naive to bits for āfunā?
Snow is a novelty here so childer of all ages take pride in building things out of snow and I find the folk who kick and trample somebody elseās fun repulsive
