So, who wants to help ... to instaurate the cellar?

Scariest moment: DDD taking off after a ball she had managed to knock down the bank into the Thames in spate, and being swept away downstream.

She came to land about a hundred yards downriver, with the ball in her mouth, but I swear I lost five years of my life as I followed frantically long the bank.

Argh! Terrifying. The coastguard and lifeboat here spent a night here recently searching for a spaniel that got swept out in a rough sea - chasing a duck, the daft creature. She was found next morning.

Yes, I was wondering, too!

What we are all wondering, of course, is whether the duck was found.

I am wondering about the dog

Um, sorry, I hadn’t realised that I wasn’t clear. The dog was fine, no idea about the duck - unless it was in the dog.

I’ve yet to meet a sensible one…

Says the Flightless Bulb-Botherer.

Ducks float. It could well have been repurposed as an in-spaniel buoyancy aid.

And it didn’t occur to you to do this a week and more ago? Not angry, just disappointed…

I had duck for lunch! I’m not intending to swim to test your theory though, not in this weather.

It’s awfully chilly here, what with the snow-melt and the ā€˜breeze’. Walkies seem a bit dodgy for tomorrow as the paths and minor roads are lethally skitey.

I could boast about the Friar’s dark chocolate rose and violet fondant creams I received today, but the hints I had been extending were fairly heavy  Very yummy, mind you. Dinner has been Singapore rice with king prawns and it was good enough. Zoom call with friends was marred by political differences, but I was well-behaved (I’m told).

Dinner was a diet meal

Onions and mushrooms in butter and garlic for me

A good 8ozs fillet for me and a 12ozs ribeye for the Bull

It was lovely with chips properly made from decent spuds

Although I am waddling somewhat

I can only envy your constitution, Twellsy.

All of the spring bulbs have been smothered in inches of sner but, today, I saw my first Woodland Aconite flower emerge from the ice. Happy bee.

Well, I have received 23 Valentines from Austria, via What’s App, & 1 from Canada!

No, I haven’t been putting it about, & neither am I the last of the red hot lovers… :joy:

Austrians send Valentines to all the people they care about.

'What are we going to do about the Bishop of Gloucester?'is one of those questions one idly asks a cat. ā€˜Show him one’s sparkly tum and roll about like a fool’ seems to be the answer.

A quondam incumbent of the see was just mentioned on R3: we’re not mad here or anything.
