When a very small Gus indeed, I was utterly fascinated by ships in bottles. Never saw a Sparrow in a bottle, though. Probably just about doable.

The trick is in reducing the sparrer to kit form then rebuilding the sparrer in the bottle in 3D form…

I am not an advocate for reducing sparrers to kit form

They object!

Some mountaineer-speak which stuck in my mind. ‘By the time X’s body could be recovered, the vultures had left him in kit form’. Very tidy birds, vultures.

Not quite no one. I for one have long held St Gertrude de Nivelles to be a Good Egg.

Thank-you for posting that, Dunnock.

The Late, Great, Slightly Foxed painted ‘eikons’ in his later years, & produced many versions of St Gertrude for MLers.

Yes, dear Bird, I know. But she looks out for nutters and is broadly agin rodent infestations, gives protection to travellers. I am prepared to take the cat thing on trust.

Imagine some tense moments between her and St Francis. ‘Si, si, but nonetheless, about these mice, and also brother Rat…’

The fine for killing cat was to hold the cat by the tail end its nose on the ground with enough grain to cover the cat in medieval times

The grain represents the amount eaten by the rodents that the cat would have killed
